Super interesting post…three years ago, when the NRC report came out, I wrote a short white paper on it. I’m happy to share it with you if you like.

Dr. Drexler, Thanks for an informative post. Might take a while to get through this, but what a great resource. Thanks!

Typo in the article: “from materials to deviced”

@ Wilson — Thanks, now fixed.

I am writting a Science Fiction manifesto about the future of humanity in Hebrew {israel}. The technology in it is based to a large extent on the seminal book of K Eric Drexler Engines Of Creation plus Kurzweil`s The Singularity Is Near. I feel that a great injustice has been done to Drexler, by the mainstream science and media, a visionary and technology inventor I hold as one of the greatest minds in history. In my future manfesto I use the term Drexlerian Nano-Creation, to point out who was really the originator of that inevitable transformation of mankind and the world.

Hi David —

May I ask that you say less about me and more about the technology — and in particular, not use the term “Drexlerian” at all?

Also, it would be a service to your readers to focus on atomically precise manufacturing concepts that are more up-to-date than the early concepts outlined in my first book. Nanosystems, for example, describes systems much more like those considered today.

Thanks,

— Eric

Thank you great Dr Eric Drexler for your reply. To me your seminal book Engines.. is one of the greatest of mankind and weave the basic principles of atomically precise manufacturing that will one day – along with AI – radically change the world. Yet of course changes are unavoidable. I have sent you longer reply on mail. Love David Ish Shalom
