Last weekend: the O’Reilly Media / Nature Publishing Group “Science Foo Camp” at Google. An amazing event, as always. I spoke at a session led by Michael Nielsen — he asked four of us to speak on Three Rules (for something); I outlined rules for broad learning about science. Later in the day I led a session on accelerating progress toward advanced nanotechnology, focusing on the need to pull together today’s strong science base to advance the field of molecular engineering for self-assembling systems.
More SciFoo blogging by others here and here.
Starting this weekend: the Peptoid Summit at the LBL Molecular Foundry. (Peptoids are cool).

Dear Dr Drexler,
Hope you’ve enjoyed your conference. I would like to ask you a short question: for mechansynthesis, how could you remove the reactive molecule once it’s stuck to the particular molecular component?
Thanks,
Thomas
